PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: July 2, 2026
1. INTRODUCTION
Notees is an iOS app (iPhone and iPad) that lets you organize your personal library and centralize your reading notes.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Notees application (hereafter “the App”, “Notees” or “we”) and describes how your information is collected, used, protected and shared.
By using Notees, you accept the practices described in this policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use the App.

- Identity: email address, password (encrypted on the authentication server)
- Third-party authentication: OAuth identifiers sent by Google or Apple when you choose these sign-in methods (name, email associated with the third-party account)
- Profile: username, optional profile picture
Content you create
- Books: title, author, category, cover image (photo taken or imported), reading progress
- Notes: free-form text, optionally extracted from a photo via text recognition (see section 3.3)

3.2 Automatically collected information
- Technical identifiers: unique identifier generated by Firebase for your account
- Usage data: technical events required for the App to function (opening a book, creating a note)
- Error logs: technical logs for debugging
- Advertising: iOS advertising identifier (IDFA) exposed when you use the free ad-supported version, subject to your consent through the App Tracking Transparency prompt (see section 6.3)
3.3 Text recognition (ML Kit)
Notees uses Google ML Kit — Text Recognition to extract text from a photo and create a note quickly. This processing runs entirely on your device using Google’s on-device ML Kit SDK: no image is sent to a Google server or to the publisher for text recognition.
Scanned photos are not retained by the publisher beyond the processing step, unless you voluntarily save them as a book cover.
